Birds For Sale

If you're interested in any of the birds listed below, please use the contact form to get in touch with us.

This is Zelda (below) and Zachary (right). They are a pair of green-winged macaws that have been with us for several years. They have given up some beautiful babies - Gidget, Enzo, and Bo.

They were well bonded, but that has changed in recent years and now they no longer care for one another. During the 2023 breeding season, Zachary was extremely aggressive with Zelda and she refused to breed with him. During the 2024 season, Zelda would not approach the nest box and keeps at least 3 feet away from him. They won't share a perch of a food dish.

With this in mind, we've decided to sell them. They can go individually to different breeders, or they can go to the same breeder, as long as they are paired with new mates.

Both birds are in their early 20's. They are breeding birds, and aside from being moved from one cage to another, they have never been handled by humans. We do not want to ship them. If one of them were to escape, capture by an inexperiences person at an airline cargo facility would be a death sentence.

We feel we need to mention this because we've come across so many individuals who do not know the difference - these are breeding macaws, they are not pets.

Pet parrots have been raised by humans. They look to humans for companionship, and they form emotional bonds with humans. They understand that humans provide food, shelter and safety. They willingly interact with humans because they see us as part of their flock.

Breeder parrots were most likely raise by their parents, and may sometimes be wild caught. They are not socialized with people and do not know how to interact with us the same way pet parrots do. They know that we provide food, and while they may talk, dance, or act silly for us, they do not consider us part of their flock. They will not let people touch them, and if given the chance, they will bite. This tends to be out of fear, or self defense, and will usually result in a serious injury. Breeder parrots
are not pets. Even the most experienced parrot breeders will tell you - no matter how well intentioned you may be, the chances of you successfully making one into a pet is incredibly small.
